Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational comic using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to promote the preservation of the traditional Subak system in Bali. Subak is a significant cultural heritage in Bali; however, it is under threat due to modernization and a lack of awareness among younger generations about its value. Therefore, interactive and engaging media such as comics are considered effective tools for conveying information about Subak preservation. The development process follows the ADDIE framework, starting with needs analysis, story and visualization design, development using Canva, implementation through trials in elementary schools in Bali, and evaluation involving language, illustration, and IT experts. The results indicate that the comic media effectively enhances students' understanding of the Subak system and the importance of cultural preservation. Expert validation also suggests that the comic is suitable for educational use, with recommendations for improvements in visualization and language simplification.
