https://ojs.mahadewa.ac.id/index.php/widyadari/article/view/6297

ABSTRACT

Educational philosophy plays a strategic role in the formation of professional teachers, particularly within the context of the Teacher Professional Education Program (Program Pendidikan Profesi Guru PPG), which has tended to emphasize technical and instructional aspects. This article aims to conceptually examine the role of educational philosophy as a foundational framework for developing reflective and humanistic teachers in PPG. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method through the analysis of reputable scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. The findings indicate that educational philosophy functions as a value-based framework that shapes the orientation and objectives of teacher education and has direct implications for the selection and design of learning models in PPG. The integration of educational philosophical traditions such as idealism, progressivism, humanism, constructivism, and critical philosophy strengthens reflective, humanistic, and contextual learning approaches oriented toward ethical and humanistic values. The conceptual synthesis of this study underscores that strengthening educational philosophy should be positioned as an integrative foundation in PPG, ensuring that the development of professional teachers is not reduced to technical skills training but becomes a reflective, humanistic, and value-oriented educational process
Nyoman AstawanI Nyoman SadwikaI Ketut Muada

https://ojs.mahadewa.ac.id/index.php/widyadari/article/view/6298

Tembang is also a literary art form that is highly worthy of understanding and study. There are four groups of tembang in Bali: Sekar Rare (gegendingan), Sekar Alit (macepat), Sekar Madya (kekidungan), and Sekar Agung (kekawin). The last three groups have standard patterns and structures, while the first group (gegendingan) has a non-standard pattern and structure, resulting in variable forms. Tembang is considered the simplest by the Balinese people, and is often called children's gegendingan or nyayian dolanan (playful songs). The role of tembang, as one of the mainstays of the preservation of traditional songs like gegendingan, has also undergone a shift. Children are accustomed to communicating in Indonesian from an early age, both at school and by their parents at home, even if their mothers and fathers are also village people. This is especially true in cities, resulting in increasingly shallow and limited use and mastery of the Balinese language, especially the community's mastery of the Balinese script. The traditional practice of parents singing lullabies to babies to sleep is no longer based on gegending, but has been replaced by modernized songs with diatonic tones. Most children have never been exposed to traditional songs, which is why they seem to dislike them. Therefore, gegending songs and traditional children's games need to be introduced to prevent the gap from worsening. Based on all the sad news above, researchers conclude that Balinese gegending has not completely disappeared; there are still opportunities for its revival (re-actualization). However, this is not the researcher's intention to reminisce or preserve the beauty of the past. Reactualization means "discovering its positive aspects and finding alternative formats that are more relevant to current circumstances." This paper is focused on exploring possible steps and concepts for reactualizing gegending for children.
I Ketut MuadaI Nyoman AstawanI Wayan Sugama

https://ojs.mahadewa.ac.id/index.php/widyadari/article/view/6312

This study aims to describe the classification of code-switching forms and analyze the function of their use in Indonesian language learning in third-grade students at SD Negeri 5 Manukaya, Tampaksiring. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive field research. The subjects were third-grade teachers as the primary informants and students as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the dominant form of code-switching used by teachers is internal code-switching, namely switching between Indonesian and a regional language (Balinese). Code-switching occurs at various stages of learning, particularly during the core stages of material delivery. The use of code-switching is influenced by several factors, including internal factors such as language habits and teacher self-confidence, and external factors such as students' language backgrounds and social environments where regional languages are more prevalent. Furthermore, code-switching serves an important function in learning: clarifying material, improving student understanding, and creating a more communicative and interactive learning environment. Thus, the proportional use of code-switching can support the effectiveness of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
Dewa Ayu WidiasriNi Wayan Widi Astuti

https://ojs.mahadewa.ac.id/index.php/widyadari/article/view/6314

The implementation of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach has become a primary focus of 21st-century educational reform due to its relevance to the needs of the workforce and the development of critical thinking competencies. However, the availability of STEM-based literacy and science assessment instruments that adhere to the Programme for International Student Assessment standards remains limited, particularly at the vocational high school (SMK) level. According to a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (2022), Indonesian students' literacy and science achievements remain below the international average, necessitating innovation in assessment development. This study aims to: (1) analyze the characteristics of STEM-based literacy and science assessment instruments according to PISA standards, and (2) develop a STEM-based assessment model for 10th-grade students. The study used a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design through the stages of exploration, design, development, validation, and instrument testing. The results show that the developed assessment instrument is contextual, multidisciplinary, and based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). The resulting assessment model proved valid (Aiken's V = 0.87), reliable (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.82), and effective in improving students' literacy and science skills. The conclusion of this study indicates that PISA-oriented STEM-based assessments can be an innovative alternative for improving the quality of learning and competency of vocational high school students.
Putu Dessy Fridayanthi

https://ojs.mahadewa.ac.id/index.php/widyadari/article/view/6329

Psycholinguistics examines the cognitive and neurological mechanisms underlying language acquisition, comprehension, and production. In early childhood, these processes are influenced by cultural and pedagogical contexts. Halliday’s approach provides a rich environment where linguistic growth is inseparable from creativity and social interaction. This study employed a qualitative, phenomenological design, observing children in halliday’s-inspired classrooms. Data were collected through storytelling, role-play, and multimodal communication, supported by introspection and thematic analysis. The results show that children’s language acquisition is shaped by situation (observable behaviors), culture (norms of respect and reciprocity), and ideology (beliefs about agency and identity). Role-play and storytelling enhanced vocabulary and narrative competence, while multimodal communication supported meaning-making and identity formation. Language acquisition is not linear but relational and embodied. Psycholinguistic theory explains the mechanisms of comprehension and production. This manuscript brings positive impact for Psycholinguistics and teaching researches which can be used as refferences for the following teaching and psycholinguistics researches
Syahida Atika RoslianaI Ketut SuardanaKomang AstiariI Putu Eka Suardana
