PERAN KONSELOR DALAM MEMBIMBING SISWA MENUJU PERGURUAN TINGGI YANG TEPAT SESUAI MINAT DAN BAKAT

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling Services are an integral part of educational activities in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum by educational units in strengthening the learning process which is expected to truly develop the potential and interests of students. The role of the counselor through guidance and counseling services has an important role in helping students to choose and determine the subject group, cross-subject, and deepening subject matter in accordance with their potential to succeed in learning, both in SMA / SMK / MA, the counselor helps students choose and determine: (1) The direction of specialization in subject groups, (2) The direction of career development, and (3) Prepare and choose further education to Higher Education or Academy. In determining the specialization, the counselor must collaborate with the school, namely: the principal, the vice principal, the subject teacher, the homeroom teacher, the school administrator and / or the parents of the students. If there is a difficulty or a mismatch between the students' choices and their parents (children choose social studies while parents need natural science), students and parents can consult with the counselor and subject teachers or homeroom teachers.
